If you’ve never been to a VegFest UK event, let me paint you a picture. Imagine hundreds of stalls packed with incredible plant-based food, innovative products you’ve never seen before, live music pumping from an outdoor stage, thought-provoking talks from inspiring speakers, and an atmosphere that’s genuinely joyful — not preachy, not intimidating, just a big, buzzing celebration of compassionate living. And in 2026? VegFest UK has three brilliant events lined up across England, including one that’s completely free to attend.

Whether you’re a lifelong vegan, a curious flexitarian, or you just love good food and a great festival vibe, VegFest UK 2026 has something seriously special in store. Let’s get into it.

What Is VegFest UK?

VegFest UK has been doing its thing since 2003, when organiser Tim Barford launched the very first Bristol Vegan Fayre. Over two decades later, it’s grown into one of the largest vegan festival series in the world — and one of the most beloved events on the UK plant-based calendar.

Founded by Tim Barford, VegFest UK was built around a simple but brilliant idea: mixing the seriousness of veganism with a fun and relaxed festival atmosphere — a place where people could eat vegan food, dance, party, socialise, and learn about healthy ethical eating all in the same day. AnydayGuide The result is something genuinely unique on the UK events calendar.

The London edition alone averages around 13,000 to 14,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors, with 15 different features and around 150 special guests, plus significant media coverage and trade interest. VegfestUK The Bristol and Birmingham editions have their own distinct character — smaller, more intimate, and deeply community-rooted.

In 2026, VegFest UK is expanding into the Midlands for the very first time, launching a free flagship event in Birmingham alongside the beloved Bristol and London events. It’s shaping up to be a landmark year.

VegFest UK 2026: All Three Events at a Glance

VegFest UK has three events for 2026: Vegfest Free Birmingham on April 25th (10am–7pm), Bristol Vegan Fayre on June 20th (10am–6pm), and the London Vegan Fayre on December 5th (10am–6pm, TBC). VegfestUK Three cities, spread across the year — no excuse not to make it to at least one!

Event #1: Vegfest Free Birmingham — Saturday, 25 April 2026

📍 Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham B5 7QU | 10am–7pm | FREE

This one is genuinely exciting — and not just because it’s free. Vegfest Free marks VegFest UK’s first major Midlands event, and it represents a return to the organisation’s roots of accessible, community-led festivals. Vegconomist

Birmingham will host the UK’s largest free vegan festival as Vegfest Free arrives at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, opening its doors to thousands of people curious about plant-based living. With up to 170 fully vegan stalls, live music, family-friendly activities and more than 30 speakers, Vegfest Free is designed to bring together the established vegan community and those exploring plant-based lifestyles for the very first time, without cost being a barrier. Edgbaston

All the stalls are vegan, with a fine array of vegan street food, artisan plant-based food producers, new vegan product launches, vegan body care and make up, clothing and accessories as well as information and inspiration from a host of ethical organisations, charities and community interest companies. “When a community comes together in style, it radiates, resonates, recharges and reconnects. Vegfest Free allows us to stand together in the face of continued challenges for the independent sector and regenerate, with a genuinely inclusive outreach event for all.”Tim Barford, Organiser, VegFest UK

What Makes It Special

Entry is completely free to the public and up to 64 independent traders, small charities and community organisations will receive free stalls and marketing support in a show of collective solidarity. Veggievision At a time when small ethical businesses are under serious pressure, this is a genuinely meaningful gesture from VegFest.

The event is sponsored by Heather Mills and her brand No Bloat, a cutting-edge range of vegan ready meals, alongside UK vegan pioneer Plamil Foods and pizza specialists One Planet Pizza. Vegconomist

Tickets are free but required in advance. Everyone attending must have a ticket, including children — though babies and toddlers under 2 do not need one. Tickets are limited, so please only apply for what you need. VegfestUK Head to vegfest.co.uk to grab yours.

Event #2: Bristol Vegan Fayre — Saturday, 20 June 2026

📍 Document, 10 Eugene Street, Bristol BS5 0TN | 10am–6pm

Bristol and vegan festivals go way back — over two decades of history. The Bristol Vegan Fayre has found its home at Document on Eugene Street, and the 2026 edition falls on the summer solstice: the longest, most sun-drenched day of the year.

Bristol Vegan Fayre returns to Document in Bristol on June 20th — a summer solstice vegan festival right in the heart of Bristol, drawing crowds from across the south west for an event which sees up to 100 independent traders alongside two talks rooms, a DJ booth and outdoor stage featuring live music and comedy. And with no Glastonbury in 2026, the organisers are leaning extra hard into live entertainment this year. With no Glastonbury in 2026, there’s an emphasis on entertainment, music and comedy at this event, which is set to attract up to 2,000 people. Document

Kids under 16 get in free — no ticket required — making this a brilliant family day out. Adult tickets go on sale from 1 May 2026. Entrance is via Eugene Street; Cabot Circus car park is around a three-minute walk from the venue.

Event #3: London Vegan Fayre — Saturday, 5 December 2026

📍 Venue TBC (previously Olympia London) | 10am–6pm

The London event is the big one. December makes it an incredible way to close out the year — think of it as your plant-based Christmas market, except a thousand times more interesting.

Every year, over 325 exhibitors come to London to promote their products, from tasty food, cosmetics and beauty products to magazines, clothing and footwear, alongside a vegan food village featuring around 25 global food caterers, including stalls from some top London restaurants. London Vegan Diaries

London VegFests also host a packed programme of talks and workshops from around 200 vegan lifestyle experts, documentary screenings, vegan cooking demonstrations, yoga and Qi Gong sessions, a Natural Therapy Zone with eco-friendly wellness products, live music and entertainment, art exhibitions, and even a bodybuilding contest. The VegFest UK Awards — a public vote recognising the best vegan products, services, organisations, and people of the year — are also traditionally announced at the London event. Full venue details for 2026 are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye on vegfest.co.uk.

What Past Attendees Are Saying

Don’t just take our word for it. VegFest UK has been delighting visitors for over two decades, and the feedback is consistently glowing.

“The best thing about VegFest was how normal and at ease I felt — I could pick up any food and not have to ask whether it was vegan first. That freedom is something you really miss out on unless you’re in a vegan restaurant.” Euphoric Vegan — VegFest Brighton attendee

It’s not just existing vegans who come away buzzing. Feedback from 2023 shows that around 100 people went vegan after visiting one Bristol event, with a further 200 looking to increase plant-based options considerably. Foodanddrinkmatters That’s the power of letting great food speak for itself.

VegFest is one of the biggest vegan and vegetarian festivals in the world. Wikipedia Past London guests have included comedian Sara Pascoe, musician Macka B, ultra-marathoner Scott Jurek, and strongman Patrik Baboumian. No two events are ever quite the same.
